We hear from Janine at Linc Cymru, who was recruited to a new position last year which allows a higher focus on data driven insight for future plans.
Janine Dube is Linc’s Data and Business Intelligence Business Partner. She kindly spoke to us about her role at Linc.
This is your first job in housing, had you ever considered a job in the housing sector before?
“I had not really given much thought about the sector regarding my career. It had not seemed like a sector that was data driven and innovative in information technology.”
What made this role stand out to you?
“I liked that it provided an opportunity for me to be able to help bring a new way of looking at data to the organisation through business intelligence and insights.”
Which aspects of your role do you enjoy the most?
“In my role I develop reports which help to improve efficiency within the business, as well as providing business intelligence and insights for all business levels. I enjoy working with people across different parts of the organisation, it keeps my role interesting. I love seeing the positive impact my work provides in our communities and it’s great to know that the work I’m doing is an integral part of tangible change within the organisation and the sector.”
Was there anything that surprised you?
“I was pleasantly surprised by how progressive the organisation and sector are.”
Is there any advice you would share with someone looking to join the housing sector?
“I would highly recommend a career in the sector because you can make real change in people’s lives.”
