A new year and a new focus for This is Housing (2 minute read)

The ‘This is Housing’ campaign went live back in September 2019 and got off to a flying start breaking its own targets for the year on the first day of launch and shining a light of the wonderful housing sector we have here in Wales.

As we enter a new year, following a disruptive 2020 for us all, we are keen to offer more from the campaign, so today we are very pleased to be launching ‘Talking Housing’, a new blog which will delve deeper into social housing and provide a real insight into some of the fantastic work that is going on behind the scenes, and to add to this we will also be taking ‘This is Housing’ on tour.

To kick things off, we have two interesting blogs for you with Darrin Davies from Valleys to Coast housing talking to us about their approach to sustainability and how the role they will play in helping create a new retrofit industry in Wales will help the sector reduce carbon emissions. Towards the end of the month we also have Shayoni Lynn of Lynn PR sharing with us the details on a very successful Fair Rents campaign she did with Bron Afon Housing in Cwmbran, that used data and behavioural science to get big results

You can read Darrin’s blog here:

2021 also sees ‘This is Housing’ going on a tour of the Country with guest takeovers throughout the year. First up it is the turn of the newly formed People, Culture and OD department at Valleys to Coast in Bridgend, South Wales.

Consisting of People, Learning and Development and Communications teams, they will be sharing new content and job posts from the sector as well as helping us launch the new blog.

So keep watching for updates throughout the month and if you are not doing so already, give us a follow on social media.
